About the event
The two most important factors in successfully meeting your breastfeeding goals are knowledge and commitment. In this class we will discuss what to expect when parenting a breastfed infant, how to prepare to breastfeed, pitfalls and "booby traps" to avoid, and where to go for support and help along the way.
This class is for the expectant mother and her partner, and will use handouts and dialogue to teach how to set your family up for breastfeeding success, normal newborn behavior, safe sleep, and how to correct common problems in the early days.
Moms who will be returning to work after the birth of their baby are strongly encouraged to enroll in our Pumping for Working Moms class, as the Breastfeeding Basics class does not go into detail on milk expression pumping, milk storage, separation, etc.
Cost is $50/per couple.
Class will be socially distanced, smaller in size than normal and masks are required.
There is a Baby Care Basics class on the same day from 1-3 pm. We have scheduled these classes so you are able to take them both on the same day with a lunch break in between, if you desire.
***For payment: please call (469) 608-0071 during business hours. Your spot in class is not reserved until payment is made in fully****
