Sol’s introduction to caring for babies was born from a place of necessity as a teenager, taking care of her baby brother. She was inspired to earn her degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri. sol worked as a nanny throughout college and beyond, eventually providing support to families in St. Louis, Houston, and New York City while working in the education field. After receiving her birth & postpartum doula certification from Jamaa Birth Village in Ferguson, Missouri, sol gave birth to her son and decided to stay home full-time. She found her way back to birth & postpartum work as her son grew.

Sol’s intention is to support families in the areas where she is most knowledgeable. They include, but are not limited to; emotional/mental support, newborn care, lactation/breastfeeding education, house-related tasks, babywearing, and scaffolding partners and siblings into the support system, where appropriate. Her style of care is thorough, gentle, and evidence based. sol seeks to empower new parents to trust their bodies, intuition and baby through knowledge sharing, positive feedback and affirmation. She says the most popular feedback she has received from clients is how heard and informed they have felt without feeling pressure to make decisions inauthentic to their desires and instincts.
