She has a desire to soak up as much knowledge as she can and instill it in women to give them a sense of power and direction in designing their birth experience.

Sha’Kaela is a certified BEST doula and a Licensed Master Social Worker. Born and raised in the Far North Dallas area, she parlayed her passion to serve and help others into the field of social work. Sha’Kaela received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Prairie View A&M University where she was initiated into Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. She continued her education locally and received her Master's in Social Work with a focus on Children and Families from UTA. Sha’Kaela has focused her social work on pregnant and parenting women, children, and families providing counseling, emotional support, education, and resource assistance. She is a proud member of The National Association of Perinatal Social Workers. Sha’Kaela believes social work and birth work go hand in hand. As social worker, she supports and empowers clients and advocates for better systems through emotional support, reflective listening and connecting with resources. As a doula, Sha’Kaela does much of the same. The birth of her son opened a new world where she became a Pre-Eclampsia survivor, preemie, and NICU mom. The experience made her determined to mirror the support for others that she needed during the perinatal period. Sha’Kaela is a huge advocate for Perinatal mental health and support. With a soft-spot for single mothers, she is passionate about supporting families and ensuring they are cared for spiritually, mentally, physically. Sha’Kaela is a mom to an incredibly funny and wicked smart 3-year-old boy as well as her fur baby, a very hyper Labrador puppy. You can usually find her on an outdoor adventure, listening to worship music, doing mat Pilates, or eating tacos.
