Rachel Korbus
Postpartum Doula,
Registered Nurse,
Educator
& Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant
Rachel has been a registered nurse since 2009. She has always loved the idea of women serving other women. This drove her to find her calling in women’s healthcare. For the last 9 years Rachel has specialized in postpartum care where she served as both a couplet nurse and most recently a postpartum nurse educator at Baylor University Medical Center. She believes in educating her patients in order to empower them to advocate for their own health and the health of their newborn. Rachel finds true joy in helping parents confidently navigate the balance of both self and family care.
She believes that to be a nurse is to forever be a student of the craft. Rachel has demonstrated this in her personal career by achieving a Master’s degree as well as becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She is excited to impart the same passion and desire as a postpartum doula and lactation consultant.
Rachel was born and raised in small, town Illinois but ventured out to California when she married her college sweetheart. She spent five years as a military wife and loved serving other military wives through a local church as a ministry leader. Rachel and her husband have settled down in McKinney where they are raising a son. Rachel loves being a part of her local MOPS group. Some things she can't live without are coffee, baking, a good glass of bourbon and her family.
She understands how being a transplant can make you feel vulnerable and alone especially during the transition to parenthood. Rachel knows the importance of feeling safe and supported throughout the postpartum journey. She hopes to guide others through their own journey and is excited to help build the community at NDDA.
