Hannah Poole, IBCLC,
Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant,
La Leche League Leader,
Educator
Hannah has a heartfelt desire to soothe people's worries, and her work as an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant enables her to do just that, during one of the most vulnerable times in new parents' lives. Her passion for breastfeeding support began with La Leche League, an international organization dedicated to helping families meet their breastfeeding goals, with which Hannah became a Leader in 2009. Seven years later, she decided to turn that passion into a career by becoming an IBCLC. Hannah's life is so enriched by the opportunity to serve NDDA families, and she is honored to meet with parents and help them overcome stumbling blocks, gain confidence, and understand the beautiful normalcy of the breastfeeding journey. She is also one of our educators, teaching monthly childbirth and breastfeeding classes.
Hannah's other passion in life is for being a gentle, respectful parent to her three children, and for supporting others in that goal as well. She leads a local parenting support group called Peaceful Parents of DFW, and teaches Gentle Parenting classes here at NDDA. Her perspective on child-raising focuses on brain science, having developmentally appropriate expectations of children, and making emotional connection the keystone of the parent-child relationship.
Hannah was born and raised in Richardson, TX, and lives there now with her husband of 16 years, their daughter and two sons, and the beloved family dog. In her spare time, she likes to read, knit, and practice being a good extrovert by chatting with her friends and family whenever possible!
