Amber Porter

Educator
&

Certified Aromatherapist

A native of Iowa and the middle child of three and the only girl, Amber relocated to Dallas at the age of 10.  After high school she became a Certified Medical Assistant.  Working as a CMA she attended to a lot of elderly patients, and throughout the years went on to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner, an Activities Coordinator, a Lifestyle Director, and a Memory Care Director.  She loved what she was doing but it was not fulfilling.  Amber became a mother at a very young age, and that first experience ignited a passion deep within her. She is the mother of 5 wonderful children ranging from the ages of 7 to 23.  Amber’s journey into motherhood made her realize that pregnancy comes with so many questions and emotions.  She is an educator at heart and thrives on providing information so that you may make informed decisions regarding your pregnancy and delivery.  Amber is kind and loving with a personality and positive spirit that fills the room.  She is knowledgeable and passionate about the care that you receive during your journey. Amber can confidently support births of any type but specializes in unmedicated birth, teenage pregnancy, and birth after loss

As a devout Apostolic Pentecostal Christian, she is deeply rooted in her faith. Amber is active in her community and is a leader for the Autism and Us Organization, a member of DONA International, National Black Doula Association, and the Black Maternal Health Association.  She is a Best Certified Doula, Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator and Aromatherapist.

In her free time, Amber enjoys reading, crafting and outdoor adventures with her three children who are still at home and their pet Newfypoo, Bonnie.
